I rarely wear monochrome because I prefer some level of contrast in my outfits but, for this look, I challenged myself to create an outfit that was one color but still interesting.
The starting piece for this look was the flare Zara pants. I like them because they’re long (which, as a 5’9″ woman, is like finding a diamond in the rough), high waisted meaning I can play around with long or short tops, and loose fitting which gives off a casual chic feel. Don’t you think?
I played up the chic vibe, pairing it with a drapey collared shirt. The fit is a fun and feminine take on the classic collared shirt. The shirt came from the super dope Top Shop flagship store in London (one of my favorite stores – it’s a shopping experience).
The flowiness of the top and loose silhouette of the pants match, but I felt the pant/shirt combo was missing something That’s where the denim jacket comes in (it’s DKNY). Although it’s a military style, it has a feminine design (consistent with the look) and carries the same shade of the blue in the color and cuffs as the pants and top.
