Boot weather has officially arrived! In addition to sweaters and jackets, boots complete the fall season fashion trifecta.
What I love about a nice pair of boots is that they are timeless, especially for more classic silhouettes like a riding boot or simple black ankle bootie. Also, I find that boots are extremely versatile because you can style them with virtually any bottom. Of course, this includes jeans, long pants, capris, and skirts but it also includes shorts. In fact, I’m excited to go bottomless this season, wearing long tops as dresses which then allows the boot to be the standout piece of the look!
There is so much variety within boots but my favorites right now are sock boots and knee highs not just because they are versatile, but also because I find them the designs and the styling options to be chic and interesting. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy a nice, timeless calf-height boot but I’ve seen so many of those that I’m much more interested in new designs. I dropped several examples below. Let me know what you think about the design, colorways, and heights in the comments. How would you wear these?
By the way, my secret weapon when I’m sporting boots *of any height* is shoe insoles. These are recommended by my chiropractor and they are a complete game-changer. They make shoes much more comfortable while protecting your back, shoulders, and neck.
1. Sock Boots
Not only will they fit you like a glove – providing security and ankle protection (this is key!) – but the silhouette will also go with virtually your entire fall wardrobe. These look fantastic with slim fit jeans, boyfriend pants, sweats, and above-the-knee skirts. I think they also look fantastic with ankle-length skirts because the skirt hits at the perfect spot to highlight the boot.
2. Knee High Boots
