Disclaimer: I haven’t left permanently, I’m on a short leave.
During this time, I’m on a journey to explore my personal style and I am taking more fashion risks along the way. I’m very much in the beginning stages of that, but I want to share the fun style changes I’ve made so far. Take a little risk, explore, and enjoy the journey. The goal is to identify a look (and feel) that is authentic and true to you!
I’ve never been one to experiment with hair color and styles. I mean – I’ve colored it and cut it but I’ve never really had fun with my hair or thought of it is an accessory like how we’d think of jewelry, for example.
That changed as of last week when I got this fun ‘do.
…not just the top button, the top 2 or 3 buttons and the bottom buttons too! I’m getting my grown woman on and showing more skin because it’s fun and flirty and that’s the vibe I’m on these days.
I’ve been into jewelry these days and have been intent on expanding my collection with rings and necklaces/chokers as well as bracelets and earrings. I’ve also been having fun with necklace layering and recently got conch and daith piercings (will probably get more).
In fact, I’ve gotten so many new pieces that I bought a couple of jewelry organizers from Amazon to safely and securely hold my pieces at home and when I travel. They’re great, I highly recommend them (the armoire is easy to assemble, I did it myself).
Black is versatile and easy, but it’s also safe. I’m challenging myself to play around more with color and texture (which I enjoy!), despite that they take a bit more effort to put together.
Besides bralettes, rings, and lipstick (not in that order), heels make me feel like a grown confident and sexy woman. I’m tall and used to be bullied for my height. For many years, I shied away from heels. Not anymore!
If you were to take time off from your 9-5, what is the first style change you would make?
