The only time I can be found at the Plaza Hotel (for non-New Yorkers, this is the hotel in Home Alone 2) is when I’m feasting in the basement at the food hall. So imagine how cool it was to attend a wedding there. The icing on the cake: it was black tie. I had fun getting dolled up and rolling up to one of the fanciest hotels in NYC on a Saturday evening. This is bougie NYC living people! I had to enjoy this uber unique occasion, it doesn’t come around often.
For special/dressy/formal occasions, Rent the Runway is my go to because they have a wide selection of dresses that are affordable to rent for a short period. Way more economical than buying a dress that I would wear once.
I went with this dress because it’s not black (black would be expected), has a unique yet classy flair, is eye-catching, and disguises my unsavory body parts. 🙂
It’s styled with silver sandals and a sterling silver bracelet ring from Morocco (I didn’t get any close up pics of it). I’d also like to call out my hair, which I styled myself. I am not great at doing my own hair, so I’m proud of how it came out. Watching a YouTube video taught me what tools to use and how to use them, including this paddle brush which helps to smooth and prevent frizz.

The Badgley Mischka dress appears to be available in black, but not in red. Below are other very pretty red Badgley Mischka dresses. Because this brand has so many stunning dresses, I put some other non-red beauties below.
The silver metallic sandals are by Charles David. An alternative is here.
