I had fun with my looks from Miami. They were colorful and comfortable but also had personality. By the way, nearly all of these pieces were purchased in Bali (where I traveled a month before). All the looks are below, with similar alternatives to shop. Plus, don’t forget to download the Miami packing list.
I love this dress because it’s lightweight and flowy but durable. It’s really hard to find maxis long enough for me because of my height (I’m 5’9”). The fact that it hits below my ankles is RARE. The detail with the back straps and high slits is fun. The thong sandals are from Express and the rattan bag is from Bali.
Alternative Options:
3 / Print Chiffon Halter Maxi Dress
4 / Floral Button Front Maxi Dress
This top was straight out of the $10 bin at Mirth, a chic vintage shop in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn in NYC. The pants are from a Christian Siriano sample sale (I think they were $10 as well). The sandals are fun, right? They’re comfy too. They’re by Uzi Isle, a NY-based sandal company that sources from Africa. The straw bag I got in Jamaica (I think) – the islands are great places to get straw bags inexpensively since palm trees are so plentiful there.
Alternative Options:
1 / Slim Fit Sleeveless Balloon Print Portofino Shirt
2 / Marc Jacobs Sleeveless Floral Top
3 / Jessica Guipire-Lace Sleeveless Top
4 / Missoni Sleeveless Floral Pattern Top
5 / Collared Sleeveless Floral Blouse
These culottes are out of the box, even for me, but I wanted to take a risk with them. Pants with side pockets aren’t usually my thing but the design, colors and fit make up for them J. These are from a store called Portobello (in Bali), while the top is Bardot and the knot sandals are Express.
Alternative Options:
3 / GRAVER Susan Graver Linen Ankle Pants w/ Crochet Details
Alternative Options:
1 / Smartwool Basic Merino 150 Pattern Dress
2 / Geometric-Canvas High-Neck Mini Dress
3 / Alice + Olivia Sleeveless Mini Dress
4 / Courtney Sleeveless Geometric Jacquard Shift Dress
5 / Calvin Klein Knit Mini Dress
This dress is another Bali win! I liked the iridescent tint and the large ties around the chest which enhance the tube detail. The most fun part is the rouching. There are ties under the dress to play around with the tightness of the rouching. Convertible pieces like this are great because you can adjust them based on your mood or the occasion. I tried to add a few unexpected twists with the accessories – white acrylic earrings (similar version here) and blue wrap heels (from Dolce Vita).
Alternative Options:
1 / Colorblock Ruffle Hi-Lo Dress
3 / Draped Bodice Peplum Dress
This little crop top is from guess where?? Yes, Bali :). The pants are BCBG. It’s ironic that I happened to have two separate pieces that were the same hue and whose flowiness matched so well. That’s why I paired them together. Not visible in these shots, but I paired these sandals with the top and pant combo.
Alternative Options:
2 / Cowl Neck Stripe Liquid Velvet Top
3 / Valentino Sleeveless Plisse Top
5 / Veda Silk Crop Top w/ Tags
